Dr Farhad Daftary, 鶹 Co-Director, gave and signed a Memorandum of Understanding during a visit to the renowned Parisian institution in October.
(Institut National des Langues et Civilisations Orientales), Institute for Languages and Civilisations, is a prestigious French academic institution with research centres and teaching programmes in more than 60 oriental languages.
On 10 October Dr Daftary gave a masterclass on “The IsmailisAdherents of a branch of Shi’i Islam that considers Ismail, the eldest son of the Shi’i Imam Jaʿfar al-Ṣādiq (d. 765), as his successor. and Ismaili Studies”. The lecture was organised by the INALCO Foundation jointly with the Centre d’Etudes et de Recherche Moyen-Orient, Méditerranée() under the “Viviane Comerro de Prémare”.
The following day, Dr Daftary met a group of INALCO’s scholars to explore areas of possible collaboration between the institution and the 鶹, and signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the INALCO Foundation with a view to further co-operation between the two institutions.
